Siberia exhibits military equipment in the Middle East

On February 12-17 official representatives of Omsk's manufacturing facility “Radio plant of A.S. Popov” participated in the IDEX-2005 International Exhibition of Military Equipment and Armament in United Arab Emirates.

More than 890 exporters of military equipment and armament from 44 countries took part in VII International Exhibition.

The fact that we had a chance to demonstrate our equipment in the first place already suggests the overall high competitiveness of Omsk's manufacturing plant among Middle Eastern and African markets. The radio factory had reported earlier of its intentions to help restore Iraq’s telecommunication systems. “Currently, Russia, USA, Great Britain and Germany are presented on such markets. We are fully entitled to assume that Russia’s production quota will most likely increase in the not-so-distant future,” stated general manager of the plant Ivan Polyakov.

Formal meetings with representatives of the German company “Elno”, Austrian “Q-mac” and British “Racal Antennas” were held in the course of the exhibition. Upon their return to Russia, managerial staff of the Russia’s city of Omsk has begun preparing for the next exhibition – IDEX-2007. “Radio plant of A.S. Popov” plans to conduct marketing research of telecommunication equipment in Middle Eastern and African regions.
