Maria Sharapova becomes Russian tennis star number one

Anna Kournikova's rival conquers the world of fashion after her triumphant victory at Wimbledon

It has been more than two weeks since the day, when Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova won Wimbledon. However, the sensational triumph of the 17-year-old girl still makes headline news in the world. Maria Sharapova became the world's second youngest winner of the most prestigious tennis tournament; she is Russia's first Wimbledon winner and Russia's first Wimbledon finalist in 30 years. This is definitely not something that happens every day.

Maria's looks of a top model made her become sex symbol number one in the tennis world. Needless to mention, numerous newspapers and magazines are eager to grace their front pages and covers with an erotic photograph of the new Russian tennis star.

Maria Sharapova has recently graced the cover of the American weekly magazine Sports Illustrated. The glamorous cover proudly says: “Star Power: Maria Sharapova Takes Wimbledon at 17.”

Maria put on her first star outfit on July 4th when she celebrated her big accomplishment with other Wimbledon winners. She was wearing a beautiful Louis Vuitton dress. The girl has already posed for Gucci, Chanel and DKNY. She signed contracts with Nike and Prince Racquets. To crown it all, Maria Sharapova will appear on the cover of the August issue of Vogue magazine.

Sharapova's spokesman at IMG Max Eisenbud said: “She loves fashion. She loves it too much. Sometimes I think she will be spending most of her time on the catwalk, not on tennis courts.”

Mark Jacobs believes Maria Sharapova is a perfect face for Louis Vuitton, because she is not a commonplace beauty girl. “I am a very fashionable girl, but I am not a model at all,” the sexy blond from Siberia says laughing.
