First results of Lithuania’s joining NATO: local prostitute raised prices for sex threefold

Placing four NATO’s F-16 fighter aircrafts of Belgium Air Force, along with 100 people of military and civil personnel on Zoknyai aerodrome near Shaulyai brought changes in the life of this town in Northern Lithuania.
The tariffs for the services of Shaulyai prostitutes were increased significantly after NATO aircrafts arrival, said to reporters General Comissar of Lithuanian police Vitautas Grigaravichyus.

He said that earlier the prostitute charged 100 Lits (about 30 Euro) per hour, but now they raised the price to 100 Euro per hour.

Other categories of the town residents who are glad with NATO military arrival in Shaulyai are the owners of the hotel and restaurants. They gained one more group of prospective clients.
 
However, some people are not pleased. Immediately after their arrival, two NATO servicemen were beaten by local hooligans. The police increased the number of patrols in Shaulyai after the incident.
