Russia heads list of Moldovan wines' importers

Russia still heads the list of countries that import Moldovan wines.

Russia accounts for approximately 82 per cent of the exported Moldovan wines, Ukraine for 7 per cent, Kazakhstan for 3 per cent, Latvia for 1.6 per cent, Estonia and Romania for 0.8 per cent each, RIA Novosti learned at the Moldovan Agriculture Ministry.

Last year Moldova supplied to Russia bottled wine worth $101.7 million and wine materials worth almost $60 million. It is $15.5 million more year on year.

In 2002, Moldova exported to the CIS countries about 97 per cent of the total volume of exported wine.
