New draft resolution on Iraq seriously amended

The new draft resolution on Iraq prepared by the United States, the United Kingdom and Spain has been seriously amended.

According to the UN information centre in Moscow, this was announced by the chairman of the UN Security Council at a closed session Munir Akram (Pakistan) after the session was completed.

According to him, the Council will continue consultations on the draft resolution for Iraq's postwar future, as these amendments need to be thoroughly examined.

The information centre added that the UN Development Programme had started to implement in the north of Iraq the first project in the framework of reconstruction and employment in the country. This programme is called to create labour places for the Iraqis. Currently, workers are being hired to clean the premises and outdoor areas of the Mosul hospital (Northern Iraq).
