Moscow And Kabul Mayors Plant Birch-Trees on Poklonnaya Hill

Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov and Kabul mayor Mohammed Anvar Jakdalak took part in the city subbotnik (day of voluntary unpaid labor) and planted birch-trees on the Poklonnaya Hill.

Meanwhile in the course of the event it turned out that the favorite tree of the city mayor was not a birch-tree but a lime-tree. Luzhkov, a well-known beekeeper and a permanent participant of all honey fairs and exhibitions stated that "to every apiarist lime is a favorite tree." According to the established tradition, the mayor donates the major part of the honey from his own apiary to children's homes.

The prefecture of the Western district of the capital reported that within the framework of the monthly campaign to provide all amenities in the territory of the Poklonnaya Hill, 43,000 of flower seedlings would be planted, the flower clock and 197 garden vases would be arranged.
