Presidents of Russia and Ukraine will discuss key aspects of bilateral cooperation

At their meeting in Sochi on Friday, the Presidents of Russia and Ukraine, Vladimir Putin and Leonid Kuchma, plan to discuss key aspects of cooperation between the two countries, above all in trade and in the economic sphere. A RIA Novosti correspondent was told about it in the press service of the Russian President. The Ukrainian President will pay a working visit to the Russian Federation. Apart from that, the press service reported, the Presidents will pay much attention to humanitarian cooperation. They will also consider the questions connected with granting Ukraine the status of an observer in the Eurasian Economic Community /EURASEC/. The members of this organisation, founded for economic cooperation, are Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirgyzystan and Tajikistan. The press service underscored that this Russian-Ukrainian meeting at the highest level, the second this year, was a continuation of the intensive political dialogue between the two countries which is aimed at developing relations of strategic partnership between Russia and Ukraine.
