A Japanese woman put on probation for committing outrage upon Koran

A 28-year-old jobless Japanese girl has been put on a 1-year probation for an “outrage upon the feelings of the Pakistani living in Japan.” Such was a court ruling for Anna Murata, who, according to the judges, secretly penetrated into the mosque in Kosugi and stole 4 copies of the Koran. Then, on the threshold of a department store, owned by a Pakistani, she cut them to pieces. Ms. Murata was also indicted for theft and the destroying of several copies of the Koran, the sacred book of Moslems. Ms. Murata pleaded guilty at the hearing in the city of Kosugi, Toyami prefecture located 250km north-west of Tokyo, according to the Pakistani newspaper News citing Jiji Press.
