Moscow And Havana Agree On Cuban Debt Payment

Russia and Cuba will continue working on the draft agreement on paying off the Cuban debt to Russia by deliveries of goods. Such an agreement was reached at a recent Moscow meeting of the co-chairmen of the intergovernmental commission on bilateral trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation, the Russian Economic Development and Trade Ministry told RIA Novosti. Cuba is expected to pay off the debt by service provision. The co-chairmen of the commission pointed to the good prospects for the extension of cooperation between Russian and Cuban companies in the fuel and energy sector, machine building, sugar industry and other spheres.
