Explosion at the Ministry of the Press in the Centre of Grozny - 7 April, 2003

An explosion took place in the centre of Grozny, some 150 metres from the building of the Ministry of the Press of the Chechen Republic, the press service of the Chechen administration reported.

The spokesman for the press service said there were no victims.

According to the press service of the Chechen administration, the explosion roared in the morning, the explosive device had been put under a tree in the heap of broken bricks. Only by a lucky chance nobody was killed or injured.

On Monday, the printed copies of the republican newspaper, Vesti Respubliki, will be brought to Grozny. This issue carries the text of the constitution of Chechnya, the press service of the Chechen administration pointed out.
