UNESCO will Contribute to the Restoration of Chechen Educational System

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) will cooperate with the Russian Ministry of Education in restoring the Chechen educational system. The signing of an appropriate memorandum on mutual understanding and cooperation for the near future between the UNESCO and the Russian Ministry of Education will take place in Paris on March 14th.

The memorandum includes fourteen projects, for three of them a $170,000 worth of funds has already been allocated. There are plans to fit out the school canteens with equipment for cooking hot meals to junior schoolchildren, to supply the schools with textbooks and manuals on a healthy life style and to run a complex of measures aimed at psychological-pedagogical rehabilitation of the schoolchildren.
