Legal Information Centre to Open in Vladimir Central Prison on Tuesday

On Tuesday, March the 4th, the Vladimir prison will host the opening of a legal information centre /Vladimir is a regional centre 150 kilometres east of Moscow/.

This centre will be opened as part of an all-Russian programme to set up a network of public legal information centres in libraries, the Russian Culture Ministry's press service has reported.

The Federal governmental communication and information agency has provided information and legal resources for the project, the agency told RIA Novosti.

The all-Russian programme to set up a network of public legal information centres has been carried out in Russia since 1998. A total of about 500 legal information centres are currently operating in Russia's 68 constituent members. These centres have the whole federal, regional and local legislation in print and computer networks. In 2002 the centres helped 1,500,000 people.
