Eastern Europe's Leading Frozen Processed Food Plant Opens in Kaliningrad

The opening ceremony of the second stage of the Food Products plant is taking place today in Kaliningrad. Once the second stage is brought on line the factory will become Eastern Europe's largest producer of frozen and tinned processed chicken products. The company's annual supply of products to Russia and the CIS will increase from 65 thousand tonnes to 100 thousand tonnes.

The expansion of the Food Products plant is the largest ever foreign investment project for Croatian private capital. Together with the EBRD the Food Products company, which was founded in 1994, will invest USD 27.6 million in production facilities by the end of the year.

The opening ceremony will be attended by Russian Agriculture Minister Alexei Gordeev, Andrei Stepanov, the Russian President's deputy envoy for the North-West District, and Kaliningrad Region Governor Vladimir Yegorov.
