Moscow to Host EXPO-Science-2003 International Exhibition

On July 12th-19th, Moscow will host the ninth EXPO-Science-2003 international exhibition of youth science and technical projects, Valery Shantsev, Vice Mayor of Moscow, told journalists Monday, following a session of the exhibition's organisational committee.

The subject of the exhibition is The Planet's Fate in the Hands of the Youth. The exposition will feature both individual and joint projects in different scientific spheres /mathematics and IT, physics and chemistry, medicine and biology, astronomy and space, machinery and technologies, architecture and construction, social sciences/.

Projects can be represented by operated models, mock-ups, scientific researches, experiments, devices, computer programs. The projects must be remarkable for their scientific character, originality, novelty and functionality.

About 2,000 youths aged 8-23 from 80 countries are expected to take part in the exposition. The organisational committee will be accepting application papers till June 15th.

After the exposition in Moscow, its participants will attend a scientific congress in St. Petersburg, which will be timed to coincide with the city's 300th anniversary, July 20-23.
