Economy Minister comments on RAO UES restructuring

The government should enlarge its ownership in the System Operator (whichwill serve as a power dispatcher) and the Federal Network Company (whoseaim is to manage the grid) to 75 percent plus 1 share during thereorganization of RAO UES, the parent company. Russian Economy MinisterGerman Gref voiced this opinion at a meeting of the Fatherland-All Russiafaction in the State Duma. Currently, the state's share in the SystemOperator and the Federal Network Company is 52 percent. The state shouldretain this 52 percent and later to increase this stake to 75 percent plusone share. At the same time, Gref stressed that a 100 percent stake in theFederal Network Company was "waste of money". .
