Investigation into case of scientist, charged with high treason, finished

The Federal Security Service (FSB) bodies have accomplished investigation into the case of Krasnoyarsk's famous scientist Valentin Danilov, accused of high treason and fraud, Krasnoyarsk's FSB regional department press service announced on Friday.

The scientist is charged with sharing technologies of Earth artificial satellites protection from solar radiation with a Chinese state firm and using a part of the contract money for his own purposes. However the arrestee, who has been in custody for almost a year and a half now, affirms that he transferred only the information, which was declassified about 10 years ago and highlighted in the press. He does not admit his guilt of illegal usage of funds either.

This spring the Krasnoyarsk Territory court initiated proceedings on Danilov's case. However the process was suspended, for, according to the court, it was necessary to carry out additional investigatory procedures.

Now the procedures are over, and in investigators' estimation, another episode, witnessing of high treason, may be produced in court in addition to the factual one.
