Combat acts may be restored in Donbass

Denis Pushilin, Chairman of the Donetsk People's Republic claimed that unless Ukrainian authorities implement at least three first articles of the Minsk Protocol, combat acts will be restored in Donbass.

According to him, first articles of the Minsk Protocol require complete ceasefire in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, military withdrawal, monitoring and verification of the ceasefire regime, and withdrawal of heavy armament by the OSCE.

Situation in the region is being deteriorated day after day. Representative of the DPR noted that the Ukrainian party 'does not implement its obligations'.

'The situation is still tense, any moment it may burst and grow into full-size combat clashes. And in case Ukraine does not implement at least first three articles of the Minsk-2, open combat clashes will be restored in Donbass quite soon,' Pushilin said.

Before that he applied to the OSCE representative Martin Sajdik to help to pass petition on Kiev's not implementing the Minsk-2 to the UN Security Council and the OSCE. A regular meeting of the Donbass contact group took place in Minsk Wednesday. The parties did not manage to agree upon withdrawal of forces.
