Teen boy races luxury Ferrari car into fireball in Moscow

On October 16, at around midnight, in the south of Sadovoye Ring Road, a 17-year-old boy was racing a Ferrari vehicle on Krimsky Bridge at the speed of nearly 200 km/h. The young man could not steer and caused a large scale car accident with the participation of several vehicles. The Ferrari vehicle caught fire and started burning immediately after the collision with two other vehicles on the road. Three people were injured, no one was killed, but the driver of the Ferrari car, a national of Israel, escaped from the scene.

Ekaterina Devyatova, spokeswoman for the Central Directorate of the Russian Interior Ministry for the City of Moscow:

The Ferrari vehicle was registered to a legal entity - a company that sells cars. The young man at the wheel did not have a driver's license. He had a bodyguard, who took efforts to protect him at hospital. A criminal case has been filed against both the driver of the car and his bodyguard, who posed a threat to the life of a police officer, when the latter was trying to approach him.
