NASA suspends suspended cooperation with Russia

NASA has decided to suspend contacts with Russia. The US-based space agency will preserve cooperation with Russia only in the field of the International Space Station. The move was made due to Russia's actions in the Crimea.

"Given Russia's ongoing violation of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, NASA is suspending the majority of its ongoing engagements with the Russian Federation," the agency said. "NASA and Roscosmos will, however, continue to work together to maintain safe and continuous operation of the International Space Station."

Russia's Vice Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, who curates the missile and space industry in the Russian government, said that Russia's cooperation with NASA in the space industry was limited to activities on the ISS before as well.

"We did not conduct any form of cooperation with NASA except for the ISS," Rogozin tweeted.
