New research by leading scientists points towards the shocking scenario of millions of Americans having been exposed already to serious and dangerous health risks, while the reaction from the authorities was first a media blackout together with threats and now, a wall of silence. What is going on?

The allegations are, quite frankly, alarming:

“A biochemical bomb went off in the Gulf of Mexico on April 20, 2010 – a bomb that was as dangerous and destructive as a nuclear blast”. Lingering death, a long-drawn-out horrific and painful death taking years, for millions of Gulf residents, “millions exposed to uncontrolled haemorrhaging, lesions, cancers”. These quotes are taken from the recent work by US based writer and investigative journalist Terrence Aym*.

From blow-out to black-out

The initial response from the authorities was very suspicious: a news black-out after the blow-out on the Deepwater Horizon rig over the Macondo well in the Gulf of Mexico; more than a black-out, threats of massive lawsuits for anyone going too near the area. Fishermen were prohibited from working in their traditional areas of activity, newsmen were banned from the scene, aircraft were blocked from the area. Data was suppressed, news stories were yanked out before publication. Why?

The new research in the work (see source below) claims that scientists are furious at the cover-up because “millions could be exposed to long-term poisoning”.

Suppressing what?

According to the research, there are a number of alarming revelations which would explain why the authorities are trying to keep a lid on the news: The entire Gulf Coast may be “saturated with high levels of benzene, hydrogen sulphide and radioactive carbon effluents”. As the research explains, benzene exposure leads to cancers... years later. The hydrogen sulphide levels read 1200ppb. The norm? 10 ppb. Max.

And apart from that, leading scientists reported methane levels one million times above the normal.

The seabed, the sea itself and the air above it are, as we read, being poisoned, in a steady seeping and sinister wave sweeping out around the Gulf into the surrounding seas. In the words of the research quoted in the source, “ a chemical cocktail of poisons”
