Salzburg surprised by Hapoel, Braga beats Sevilla

Hapoel Tel Aviv went to Salzburg, Austria to win by 3 goals to 2, goalkeeper Enyeama scoring the first from a penalty after three minutes. The Nigeria goalkeeper saw his team leave the stadium 3-2 ahead. In the other games, Basel and Braga got home wins; Partizan Belgrade drew at home to Anderlecht.

Goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama (3’, pen), Sahar (44’) and Shechter (53’) fired Tel Aviv’s three goals in Vienna but Pokrivac (28’) and Wallner (67’) pulled two back for the Austrian side.

In the other play-off first legs in the Champions League, Swiss side FC Basel 1893 defeated Moldavian champions FC Sheriff 1-0 with a header by Valentin Sticker (54’). A late penalty was saved by the Sheriff keeper.

Partizan Belgrade 2- Anderlecht (Belgium) 2. the entire game was resolved within a frantic nine minutes at the beginning of the second half. Gillet scored for the visitors, Anderlecht, on 54’ and Cleo equalized for FK Partizan on 57’. Lecjaks scored an own goal on 64’ (against Anderlecht) but on 66’, Juhasz equalized, for the Belgian team.

In Portugal, last year’s runners-up in the Portuguese championship, Sporting de Braga, defeated Spanish side FC Sevilla 1-0, header from Matheus on 62’.

Finally, in Bremen, the German team Werder beat Italian side Sampdoria by a comprehensive 3-1, goals from Fritz (51’); Frings (67’ pen.) and Pizarro (69’) before Pazzini reduced for the Italians on 90’.
