Al-Assad: Syria will slash roots of  Israeli adventurism

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, has emphasized on Tuesday that Damascus is able to confront the Israeli regime's adventurism, alluding to the recent Israeli aggression against the Arab country. The Syrian president stressed that the Israeli offensive is evidence of interference by Tel Aviv and its Western and regional allies in the Syrian crisis.

"The Syrian people and their brave army are able to face the attacks of the regime in Tel Aviv, but there are acts of terrorism which threaten the  Arab country daily," said Al-Assad in a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar Salehi, held in Damascus, the Syrian capital.

The Syrian president stressed that the Israeli offensive is tangible evidence of interference by the Tel Aviv regime and its Western and regional allies in the Syrian crisis.

Salehi, meanwhile, has condemned the Israeli aggression confirming that Tehran will continue to support Damascus to counter the efforts of Israeli leaders to alter the security of the region and weaken the resistance. They reject the very idea of foreign intervention in Syria, insisting that the crisis in the Arab country can only be solved through national dialogue.

In addition to addressing bilateral relations, both sides have analyzed the latest regional and international level structures.

The night from Saturday to Sunday, Syrians were witnessing a new Israeli missile attack against Jamraya research center near the capital city of Damascus.

The Israeli attacks have been strongly criticized in international forums. Iran, Egypt and China, among other countries, have strongly condemned the offensive.

However, the United Nations and anti-Syrian countries have remained silent on the act, refraining from condemning them.

The U.S. president, Barack Obama, justified, in fact, the Israeli air attack and reiterated its support for a scheme, where Israel systematically violates all agreements and international standards, in this case attacking a sovereign state.

In recent months, the Israeli army has repeatedly fired artillery shells at positions in Syria, arguing that such measures are a response to alleged shooting from the Syrian side.

According to opposition sources, some 1,000 militants withdrew from various areas after they lost hope that aid would come from Jordan.

The Syrian Army's success has raised resentment among militants over what they consider as lack of support from Jordan in their fight against the Syrian government forces.

The Syria crisis began in March 2011, and many people, including large numbers of soldiers and security personnel, have been killed in the violence.

The Syrian government says the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, a very large number of the militants are foreign nationals.
