Turkish President Erdogan cracks down on Western leaders for their attitude to Putin

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan cracked down on Western officials for their attitude towards Russian President Vladimir Putin. In an interview with TRT, Erdogan said that their attitude to Putin did not grace them, RIA Novosti reports.

"You know what attitude Western politicians have towards Putin. This is not befitting politics. What attitude you show towards him is what you will get in return,” Erdogan said.

Earlier, he said that Istanbul grain export agreements could help overcome the global production crisis. According to the Turkish president, Ankara was expecting the sides to fulfill the agreements in Istanbul on grain.

The meeting between presidents of Russia and Turkey took place on July 19 in Tehran. Putin and Erdogan participated in trilateral talks with Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi. The situation in Syria was also on the agenda.

Earlier, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock expressed her concern about the photo of the leaders of Russia, Turkey and Iran. Putin, Erdogan and Raisi were photographed together following the meeting in Tehran. According to Baerbock, such a photo was a challenge, because Turkey is a member of NATO.

"The fact that the Turkish president is in this photo is a challenge, to put it mildly,” Ms. Baerbock said in an interview with Bild.

She recalled that Turkey was assisting Ukraine in the armed conflict with Russia. "That's why this photo is more than just incomprehensible to me, especially from the point of view of a NATO member,” the German Foreign Minister said.
