The UN emergency meeting should be held today, given the tensions on the Turkish and Syrian border.
All the 28 member-states are to to hold talks on the 4th article of the North Atlantic Treaty.
Turkey had requested it given the terrible terror attacks that gripped the country.
Ankara is willing to discuss military operations in Syria and Iraq, as well as its involvement in them. It was also reported, that Washington and Ankara agreed upon the ISIS-free zone along the border with Syria.
Semyon Bagdasarov, Director of the Center for the Study of the Middle East and Central Asia, claimed that the ISIS-free zone will be considerable, in case the NATO gives it a green light. 'They will create a big buffer zone, from the Mediterranean, Latakia, and will deploy troops up to the north, including Aleppo. They will be trying to convince their partners by all means: declaring territorial security and so on. But their main objective is to get into Syria. The Turkish troops are already concentrated on the border. They wished to bring them on July 17, but the Americans were against it at the time. Now they have changed their mind.'
Authorities of the biggest Turkish city Istanbul have already warned population of the major terror threat.
