EU foreign policy chief spokeswoman Maya Kocijancic announced today, November 3, that the media incorrectly conveyed her remarks about the sanctions policy of the EU against Russia.
During the day, it was reported, with reference to Kocijancic, that restrictive measures against Russia were being constantly revised, and "so remains to this day." The media understood the words of the EU official as a clear indication of a new package of sanctions to be prepared against Russia.
"I did not say that. I said that the member states will be discussing the elections in eastern Ukraine this week, as well as the situation in the country on the whole," emphasized Kocijancic, thereby refuting the information that had appeared in the media, TASS reports.
