Spokespeople for Kalashnikov Concern warned U.S.-based customers that sanctions against Russia would cause them significant damage.
U.S. sanctions against Kalashnikov Concern may affect American consumers of Kalashnikov products, officials said, Interfax reports.
"The products of Kalashnikov enjoy great demand in the United States. Preorders on civilian products are three times the annual volume of deliveries. Thus, the sanctions taken against Kalashnikov go against the interests of American consumers," a statement from the press service of the company said.
For Kalashnikov, which is a part of Russian Technologies Corporation, the U.S. is an important market for civilian weapons.
Concern Kalashnikov (formerly NPO Izhmash) is Russia's largest producer of automatic and sniper combat weapons, guided artillery shells, as well as a wide range of civil products - shotguns, sporting rifles, machines and tools.
The company supplies its products to 27 countries, including the USA, the UK, Germany, Norway, Italy, Canada, Kazakhstan and Thailand.
