Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova will act as a correspondent for the U.S.-based channel NBC at the Winter Olympics in Sochi in 2014.
"Maria is one of the most recognizable sports stars in the world," executive producer of NBC's Olympic project, Jim Bell said. "She grew up in Sochi, and her parents and friends still live there. Thus, Maria will offer our viewers a unique experience of reports from her native places."
Sharapova is expected to make reports with NBC correspondent Ryan Seacrest and Mary Carillo. She will also act as a studio TV presenter.
