Russian Government meets UEFA President
On the 17th of April 2013, the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, and the Russian Sports Minister, Vitaly Mutko, met with UEFA President, Michel Platini, to discuss the 2018 Football World Cup which will take place in Russia.
Michel Platini expressed his wish to see the stadium built for the event. "Russian football has excellent future prospects," the UEFA (Union of European Football Association) President said.
The Russian President, in turn, thanked Michel Platini for supporting Vitaly Mutko in international organizations. Vladimir Putin promised that he and Vitaly Mutko would "learn French now as a sign of gratitude" to the French UEFA President.
