Former Spartak Moscow footballer dies sudden death at 29

Former Spartak Moscow football player Alexander Kozlov died at the age of 29, representatives of the Zorkiy club said (Kozlov was training at Zorkiy during the off-season).

The club did not specify the cause of Kozlov's death. His agent, Valery Oganesyan, has not given any comments yet. According to sports journalist Ivan Karpov, Kozlov had a blood clot.

"Kozlov came for a massage, but he did not feel well during the session. He fell and started wheezing. We tried to start a heart, it seemed to work. An ambulance arrived, but paramedics failed to save his life. A blood clot."

Spartak, for which Kozlov played in 2010-2016, and Fakel Voronezh, for which he played in 2016-2017, expressed their condolences to footballer's relatives.
