The Ukrainian authorities, in a fit of "European hysteria," take bizarre decisions. For example, in the city of Lviv, the authorities think to replace the Cyrillic script with the Latin alphabet. Now, Kiev intends to bid farewell to the Russian New Year character Ded Moroz (Grandfather Frost) and replace it with Santa Claus.
There are no reasons given to explain such a strange move. However, an adequate decree has already been published on the official website of the city administration.
The fate of Snegurochka (the Snow Maiden), the granddaughter of Ded Moroz, remains unknown.
