Summing up the results for the six months of 2018, the Russian Federal Statistics Agency, Rosstat, obtained information on highest salaries that common Russians receive. It turns out that the salaries of pilots and cosmonauts are the highest.
The average salary of those working in the field of air and space transport is 161,700 rubles a month ($2,300 given that $1 is currently traded for 70 rubles), the Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.
Those working in the production of crude oil and natural gas earn the average of 123,100 rubles. Employees of the tobacco industry - 111,200 rubles.
Salaries are lowest for those working in the clothing industry: 20,800 rubles a month ($300). Furniture makers earn 23,400, and those who produce leather and leather products get paid 24,500 rubles.
As for regions, residents of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District receive highest salaries (about 100,617 rubles). The list continues with the Chukotka Autonomous Territory (98,291 rubles), Moscow (82,729 rubles), and the Magadan Region (82 471).
The lowest salaries in the Altai Territory - an average of 24,402 rubles per month, in Karachaevo-Cherkessia - 24,481 rubles, in Chechnya - 24,873 rubles, and in the Ivanovo region - 24,874 rubles.
As for Moscow, a middle class employee has to make 121,000 rubles ($1,700) to be able to fit in the category. The number is twice as low for regions of Russia.
