A group of tourists was attacked in Derbent, Dagestan.
The incident occurred on a viewing platform near the ancient Naryn-Kala Fortress in Derbent. When the tourists were visiting the fortress, unknown individuals opened automatic fire on the people.
According to preliminary data, there were two shooters, who attacked the tourists from the direction of the forest.
"At least two people opened fire on the tourists - they were shooting from a pistol and from an automatic rifle," a law-enforcement official said, RIA Novosti reports.
"Twelve people were injured and one of them was killed as a result of the attack. All of the wounded individuals were hospitalized to the Central Hospital in Derbent. Four people remain in serious condition," officials said.
According to Interfax, the person who was killed in the shooting was a border guard.
