Acting Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Vladimir Ivanov, conducted a meeting with Polish Ambassador Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz. The officials discussed prospects of business cooperation.
The Nizhny Novgorod region and Poland have been maintaining strong cultural and economic ties for many years. Poland is among ten largest partners of the Russian region. The trade turnover between Poland and the Nizhny Novgorod region has been growing steadily since 2009.
Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz was appointed Ambassador of Poland to Russia in August of this year. Her visit to the Nizhny Novgorod region became her first trip to subjects of the Russian Federation as an ambassador.
"I am very pleased to have this opportunity. I had visited Nizhny Novgorod many years ago. This visit is not accidental - the Nizhny Novgorod region is one of the most important economic partners of Poland," said the Ambassador of Poland.
In total, since 2005, the volume of investments attracted to the Nizhny Novgorod region annually has increased 4.2 times and amounted to 272.2 billion rubles as of 2013. Foreign investment in the same period of time has had a tenfold increase and amounted to 1.043,6 million US dollars as of 2013.
