First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee for Foreign Affairs, Vladimir Dzhabarov, said that the Federation Council suspends inter-parliamentary contacts with the countries that supported anti-Russian sanctions, including the USA, ITAR-TASS reports.
"It does not speak for the final termination of relations. At this particular moment, we refuse from the previously planned parliamentary trips to the United States and Greece," said the senator, adding that "the Federation Council, in connection with the current international situation, intends to rethink international trips."
"We do not deal with parliamentary tourism, we want our contacts to be fruitful," he concluded.
In turn, the chairman of the Federation Council Committee for Rules and Organization of Parliamentary Activity, Vadim Tulpanov, said that due to the complicated international situation parliamentarians moved from quarterly to monthly travel planning.
