Nine Russian families adopt 27 orphans at once

Nine families in Russia's Kuzbass region have adopted three children each. No names have been disclosed due to the confidentiality of adoption. By law, the families may now file for better housing conditions.

Kemerovo Governor Aman Tuleyev allocated 100 million rubles for the purchase of apartments for the families willing to adopt orphans. Additionally, 176 million rubles were collected by the regional population within the scope of the action "100 Apartments for Orphans."

New apartments will be provided only to the families who have adopted at least three orphans. At the end of September, the Council of People's Deputies of the Kemerovo region forbade the adoption of children for citizens of all foreign countries.

Meanwhile, in another part of Russia - in Kaluga - local authorities are going to close orphanage No. 3 because of the small number of inmates. The children themselves do not want to move anywhere and ask not to close the place to which they are accustomed to live. The Governor of the Kaluga region had previously ordered to leave two orphanages in the region.
