A group of Russian inspectors will perform observation flights above the territories of the United States and Canada within the scope of the International Treaty on Open Skies, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry said.
The flights will be conducted by Tu-154M Lk-1 aircraft from 7th to 21st of July, from the Open Skies airfields of the U.S. Elmendorf and Trenton Air Harbor in Canada.
As Russian officials explained, observation flights are carried out to promote greater openness and transparency in military activities of the members of the Treaty.
