Yakutian President Egor Borisov meets Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev

In Moscow, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev held a work meeting with the head of Yakutia, Egor Borisov. During the meeting, the two leaders addressed issues about the design and construction of a bridge across the Lena River, about the co-funding of the construction of a regional oncological center, the privatization of diamond company Alrosa and about the problems with the procurement of fodder.

The weather conditions have caused problems with stocking up fodder. The Head of Yakutia appealed to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation  with a request to send the head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Nikolai Fyodorov, to the region in early August to assess the situation and make adequate decisions. Egor Borisov described the state of the economy as "quite stable". According to the President of Yakutia, in 2011 the growth of the gross regional product (GRP) made up 6.2 percent. Dmitry Medvedev agreed with the evaluation of Egor Borisov. Medvedev noted that the indicator was above average. The republic's leadership plans to overcome the barrier of 500 billion rubles this year on the absolute indicator of the GRP.

Speaking about the necessity of building a bridge across the Lena River in Yakutsk, the head of Yakutia said that the specialized contractors that had experience in the construction of large bridges would become available after the completion of the APEC summit-2012. Egor Borisov asked the head of the Russian Cabinet to decide on the beginning of the design and construction of the second starting complex of the railroad equipped with a combined road-rail bridge across the Lena River.

Egor Borisov offered Dmitry Medvedev to explore the opportunities of co-financing of the national oncological center from the federal budget. Also the head of Yakutia requested a meeting in the near future pertaining to the implementation of Scheme 2020 (the scheme of integrated development of productive forces, transport and energy of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)). The work on the preparation of the meeting was entrusted to Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich.

The President of Yakutia asked the Prime Minister to support the initiative of the republic to consolidate the temporary provisions of Article 93.2 of the Budget Code of the Russian Federation on a permanent basis. It goes about the provision of low cost loans to legal entities for the purchase and delivery of fuel in the Far North and similar areas. Russia's Finance Minister Anton Siluanov received  written request to consider this issue.

Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov was asked to examine the situation with the closure of Tiksi-3 military settlement. The residents of the settlement can not be relocated - the people have no place to go.

The head of Yakutia touched upon the privatization of the company Alrosa. The Prime Minister assured that all decisions on the diamond company would be made only as a result of coordination with the authorities of the republic.

"I think that the meeting went very successfully. Mr. Medvedev has heard and accepted all of our questions. I hope that practical solutions will not keep us waiting for long," Egor Borisov said after the meeting.
