The 12th All-Russian conference of representatives of small and medium-sized business opened in Nizhny Novgorod. The governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Valery Shantsev, took part in the opening of the conference.
The conference, which is timed to the Day of the Russian Entrepreneurship, is titled "Small and medium-sized business: Prospects of development under the conditions of Russia's WTO membership."
According to Valery Shantsev, small and medium-sized businesses in Russia are prepared to the country's membership in the World Trade Organization best. Such businesses are flexible enough to adapt to international standards, Federal Press informs.
The governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region also said that one should establish personnel training centers during Russia's incorporation in the WTO. In addition, the governor believes that one should introduce joint standards and services provided to small business within the scope of regional programs and certify all organizations of the infrastructure under international standards.
Valery Shantsev offered to stipulate complex measures to support export-oriented regional enterprises of small and medium-sized business. As for innovative small business, the governor offered to legally regulate the compensations of the costs for patent registration, preparation of business plan for addressing to venture capital funds, etc.
"The Nizhny Novgorod region will find itself in a profitable position, because it will be prepared to join the WTO before other regions do the same," Georgy Petrov, the Vice President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of the Russian Federation said.
