The meeting in support of Vladimir Putin took place in the city of Nizhny Novgorod on Feb. 18. Nearly 8,500 people took part in the meeting. Spokespeople for public organizations, intelligentsia, scientists and workers gathered for the meeting in the city center.
Giant screens were installed at the square near the monument to Minin and Pozharsky. The screens were broadcasting similar events taking place in other districts of the Nizhny Novgorod region, as well as in other cities of the country.
The organizers provided the participants of the meeting with hot tea and fresh pastry. They also handed out "I choose future" and "Russia's fate is my fate" bannerettes to the participants of the meeting. Some people brought their own banners saying: "Justice" and "Workers against the return of the 1990s."
The meeting continued for nearly an hour. At the end of the meeting, the participants approved the resolution in Putin's support.
