The Russian armed forces have destroyed four American HIMARS launchers, which were delivered to Ukraine on July 5-20, Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov, an official representative for the Ministry of Defense told reporters Friday, July 22.
The Russian military also destroyed one transport-loading vehicle of the enemy, he added.
Two US-made launchers were destroyed near the village of Malotaranovka. Another HIMARS was destroyed near Krasnoarmeysk, and a fourth launcher was destroyed on the outskirts of Konstantinovka of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
On July 17, the Russian department reported the destruction of the American HIMARS multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) near Krasnoarmeysk. Russian servicemen then managed to eliminate the target with the help of ground-based high-precision weapons.
On July 8, the Pentagon announced a new $400 million military aid package to Kyiv. The US also promised to provide four wheeled-mounted HIMARS MLRS systems, ammunition and artillery shells for them. The US has delivered 12 HIMARS MLRS to Kyiv as of yet, the Pentagon said.
