The Russian Aerospace Forces struck the centre of temporary deployment of a motorized infantry battalion in Kharkiv. As many as 100 Ukrainian fighters were killed in the attack.
In addition, two launchers for American HIMARS MLRS were destroyed on the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, an official spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry told reporters on Wednesday, July 6.
"Up to 100 Ukrainian nationalists and four units of military equipment were destroyed in the attack conducted by the Russian Aerospace Forces targeting the temporary deployment centre of the 22nd motorized infantry battalion of the 92nd mortised brigade located in Kharkiv," Konashenkov said.
"In the area of the settlement of Malotaranovka in the Donetsk People's Republic, high-precision air-launched missiles destroyed two US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket launchers and two ammunition depots for them," the general added.
According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the special operation, Russia has destroyed 720 combat vehicles of multiple launch rocket systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On June 28, Ukraine used the M142 HIMARS MLRS for the first time. Representatives for the Luhansk People's Republic at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire clarified that the missile strike was carried out on the territory of Perevalsk.
