In the village of Sergeevka, the Slavyansk district of the Donetsk region, Ukrainian military men destroyed an outpost of the supporters of federalization.
Local media report, citing eyewitnesses, that men in uniform appeared in the village; the sounds of shooting can be heard in the area of the highway.
Eyewitnesses also reported that one person was killed in the clashes, although this information has not been officially confirmed yet, Interfax reports.
The supporters federalization in Slavyansk and Kramatorsk and took control of local television stations that provide broadcast services for the southeast of the country. Instead of Ukrainian TV channels, the people can now watch Russian ones.
On April 14, the 25th brigade of airborne troops, stationed near Slavyansk, sided with the local militiamen. Acting President of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov, appointed for the position by the Verkhovna Rada, threatened to court-martial the military, who refused to fight against the civilian population.
