Walt Disney to leave Russian TV market

US-based Walt Disney Company may either leave the Russian TV market or close a number of offices in the country. Representatives of the company consider such an option in connection with the adoption of the law that restricted the participation of foreign owners in Russian media outlets.

"In October 2014, Russia adopted a new law limiting foreign participation in mass media to the share of 20 percent. In accordance with the law, Walt Disney Company may have to reduce its stake in January 2016. The company currently considers various methods of action in accordance with these rules. Depending on results, we could get rid of some or all of our investments," representatives of the US-based company said.
