On July 1st, the Federal Passenger Company (FPC) is launching the first passenger train between Moscow and St. Petersburg that will provide an opportunity to passengers to transport their vehicles, the director of the FPC, Mikhail Akulov, said Thursday.
According to Akulov, it goes about a night train, a car transporter. The cost of the transportation of vehicles on this train in a specially equipped car will make up 6,000 rubles ($200).
As noted, it will be the first experience of commercial railway transportations of private vehicles on the territory of Russia. If the experiment is successful, this type of service will be promoted for southern directions of railroad communication.
