A new metro station, "Gorkovskaya," will be officially opened in Nizhny Novgorod on November 4, as was planned before. Nizhny Novgorod Governor Valery Shantsev will attend the station to see the works for himself.
The head of the region said that he would take a ride on a route "Gorkovskaya" - "Moskovskaya" on a common subway train, reports ProGorodNN.ru portal. The ride will take place on October 24.
"Builders have promised that we will not recognize those places. I would like to see everything finished, like I saw it on pictures. As promised, all is moving to November 4," said Shantsev.
More than 90 percent of works at the station have been completed. Workers have started cleaning the station, engineers are checking the power equipment.
The construction of "Gorkovskaya" - the end station of the Avtozavodskaya metro line in Nizhny Novgorod - began in the summer of 2008 under Gorkovskaya Street, next to the square of the same name. It will be the first station in the upper part of Nizhny Novgorod.
In the future, it is planned that the station will be used for the transfer to the third line of the subway. Currently, the Nizhny Novgorod Metro has 13 stations on two lines - Avtozavodskaya and Sormovskaya.
