USA virtually takes mankind back to barbaric medieval ages

The recent visit of US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to Georgia, a former Soviet republic, became quite a surprise. Ms. Rice visited the country against the background of the escalation of conflict between Georgia, Abkhazia and Ossetia. It is not ruled out, though, that she may put forward an idea to Georgia’s President Mikhail Saakashvili to deploy elements of the US missile defense system, which Poland previously declined.

A series of explosions occurred in Abkhazia several days before Rice’s visit. The administration of Abkhazia publicly accused Georgia of organizing the terrorist acts. The conflict continued in South Ossetia, where Ossetian military men took four Georgian artillery officers captive as a result of the skirmish in the capital of Tskhinvali.

The President of Georgia, Mikhail Saakashvili, promised to grind “Ossetian separatists to the dust.” Furthermore, Georgia captured a 14-year-old boy from South Ossetia, whom they subsequently exchanged to the four Georgian artillery officers.

It just so happens that a boy from Ossetia was worth four Georgian officers. South Ossetia retuned the military men to Georgia, whereas Georgia returned the boy to Ossetia.

The US administration could not leave the situation in Georgia out of its attention. Condoleezza Rice urgently flew to Georgia to have a meeting with its president. It is worthy of note that the US administration previously offered to deploy peacemaking forces in Georgia to replace the Russian peacemaking group there. Russia’s representative at NATO, Dmitry Rogozin, stated that Russia would not let a new conflict develop in the Caucasus.

What does Ms. Rice need in Georgia if Russia strongly refused to discuss such an offer? A senior official from the Ministry for Special Affairs of South Ossetia, Inal Pliyev said in his interview with Pravda.ru that one should pay attention to Ms. Rice’s statements to understand the goal of her visit. “She particularly stated that the conflict in the region escalated because of certain actions, which Russia had taken during the recent several months. “Georgia is a sovereign state and one should treat it as a sovereign state,” she once stated,” Inal Pliyev said.

Georgia is an independent state, of course. Like Iraq, Afghanistan and Panama, Georgia is a very sovereign state and it is even hard to describe how sovereign Georgia is. A US state-run institute said last year that the level of democracy in Iraq was higher than that in Belarus. This is the absurd logic that Western politicians follow. They measure democracy in other countries with those countries’ readiness to decline their own sovereignty,” Pliyev said.

“If a country follows the directions from the USA and NATO, then this country is considered democratic. If not, then not. Condoleezza Rice’s remarks show that the USA approves the murder of innocent people and violations of international rights. The USA virtually takes mankind back to barbaric medieval ages,” Inal Pliyev concluded.

The official believes that Condoleezza Rice’s visit to Georgia exercises her open support to Mikhail Saakashvili’s bloody deeds in neighboring sovereign states. It is not ruled out that the USA will eventually offer Georgia to deploy elements of the US missile system on its territory.

On the other hand, Condoleezza Rice spends her last months on the position of the US Secretary of State. The USA may change its attitude to Saakashvili’s regime in Georgia in the event Barack Obama is elected president.
