Russia to launch ground operation in Syria?

CNN reported, with reference to sources at the Pentagon, that Russia was going to launch a ground operation in Syria. According to the US network, Moscow will send troops to the Middle East to support the regime of Bashar al-Assad and struggle against the Syrian opposition.

According to CNN, Russia is not going to wage war against the Islamic State. Pentagon sources said that there were four Russian missile systems spotted between the cities of Homs and Idlib. In addition, Russia is said to use radio jamming equipment in Syria to counter radar stations of the US-led international coalition. Moscow denied CNN reports. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov confirmed President Putin's words, who previously stated that Russia would not conduct a ground operation in Syria.
