Does Turkey need Erdogan?

Early general elections has taken place in Turkey. After the ruling Justice and Development Party turned out to be in quite an insecure position 5 months ago, the elections in November should have defeated the power of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as many expected. However, this time the results of the elections have rehabilitated the party. The Justice and Development Party will get right to form the single-party government.

Europe, though, became seriously anxious about the results of the voting. Thus, 'The Irish Times' reminds its readers that although the Erdogan's policy aims at the economic progress, it is still marked with a range of disadvantages. These are the weakening of Lira and suicide bombings. The Justice and Development Party also has strained relations with the Kurdistan Workers' Party. And the main problem, according to the European journalists, is the absence of freedom of speech in Turkey, where the government allegedly fights against any faultfinding moods.
