Champions League: Chelsea and Bayern

For those of us who predicted that the Spanish Primera Liga would ride roughshod over the Champions League, the conclusion is Chelsea FC vs. Bayern Munich FC in the final of the Champions League. How many of those teams are Spanish? None!

Bayern Munich 2 Real Madrid 1

90 Mário Gomez

Incredible as it may seem, the final of the Champions League will not figure any Spanish team.

Barcelona v. Chelsea

The first semi-final of the Champions League sees Barcelona relegated to a new phase - out of the Spanish championship and out of the Champions League. The message is, take out Messi, take out Barça. And if the Barcelona midfield is strong, why, lob the ball over it. Real blazed the trail, Chelsea followed. Maybe Guardiola should join Chelsea...

Barcelona 2 Chelsea 2 Aggregate 2-3

Busquets 35 Ramires 45+1

Iniesta 43     Torres 90+2

First Leg: Wed 18 Apr 2012Chelsea 1 Barcelona 0

Drogba 45+2

Chelsea FC entered the game 1-0 up but Barça whittled it down to 2-1 after 43 minutes. However, still in the first half, Ramires chipped Chelsea into a 2-2 score-line (ahead on away goals) setting up the second half for a scorching 45 minutes of football.

With Captain John Terry off after 37', Chelsea came out of the tunnel wondering what would happen. Messi hit the posts, missed a penalty...but Fernando Torres buried Barça right at the end of the game and Chelsea is in the final against Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.
