Anzhi Makhachkala is the only Russian survivor, beating Genk of Belgium 2-0 on aggregate, both goals coming in the away game. Rubin Kazan was expelled by Real Betis (Spain) 3-1 over the two legs.

Oleksandr Aliyev (photo) scored the second goal of the match for Anzhi Makhachkala on 71 minutes after the own goal on 64' by Tshimanga.
